I would like the visitor to this site to view the work in categories rather then scrolling through all the pages which contain over a 100 images. The work appears in no particular order so one may find it difficult to perceive a coherent development. Different subjects and techniques pursue quite different effects on the viewer. You will find seven different categories on the top right hand side, merely click on one of these and the page containing that category will appear immediately.

Ciudades, pueblos y calles. Tratan de los entornos que el hombre ha hecho en este mundo para desarrollar la vida que él desea, viviendo en comunidades donde se encuentra protegido e identificado.
The cities, towns villages and streets. These paintings deal with the surroundings that people have constructed, a piece of land in this world they can call home. The hope is to lead a life full of satisfaction thanks to the sense of belonging these places provide to their occupants. living in a community that provides protection and self identity.
Desnudos. Apuntes a acuarela o grafíto rápidos de 2 o 5 minutos la mayoría. Con el gesto del trazo, pretendo plasmar la fuerza y dinamismo del cuerpo humano desnudo.
Nudes Here you will find 2 or 5 minute watercolour and pencil sketches. I try to capture with the gesture of few lines the force and dynamics of the naked human form.
Figuras en la población. Las figuras que habitan estos espacios dan vida y razón de ser a estos lugares. Sin la presencia humana, los pueblos se vuelven tristes, desolados; la figura forma parte del entorno, aunque a menudo se encuentre aislada, descansando o caminando a no se sabe donde, si, se aportan a la pintura esa sensación de un momento fugaz en el tiempo.
Intento encontrar un orden compositivo, donde se elimine todo lo innecesario y en este juego toman un papel principal las luces, las sombras y las formas geométricas que abundan dentro de las poblaciones.
Figures in urban settings. The figures that live in these spaces give life and reason to their existence. Without the human presence these urban surroundings would become desolate and empty, although often figures are seen isolated, resting or walking in no particular direction they do give the painting that sense of a moment in time.
My fundamental concern is to establish an order in the structure of the composition, anything unnecessary is eliminated, and in this search to refine the painting, light and shadow and the geometrical forms found in every corner play a decisive role.
Espacios Religiosas. En estos cuadros las personas se agrupan alrededor de la iglesia con el rostro serio y con la mirada dirigida hacía el interior de uno mismo. Quiero plasmar la forma en que la luz golpea las caras. La luz representa lo eterno, mientras que las figuras lo efímero y lo mortal. Pero en las iglesias se busca la luz espiritual que les pueda llevar a la eternidad. Asï que considero que estos momentos, por las iglesias y catedrales, están llenos de profundidad y belleza.
Religioius spaces. In these paintings people are seen in large numbers in and around the church with serious expressions as if their gaze was directed towards their own inner self. I want to depict the way the light falls on their faces; this light represents the eternal whilst the figures the ephemeral and mortal. In the church the people look for a spiritul light that may lead them to immortality. I see these moments around the churches and cathedrals as profoundly moving and beautiful.
Olivos y olivares. Soy un enamorado de la belleza de un campo de olivos, sus tierras de monte bajo, la luz mediterránea que baila entre ellos y los surcos multicolores dibujados en el suelo. Me entusiasma poder pintar estos árboles tan encantadores y entrañablemente españoles.
Olive trees and olive groves. I am in love with the beauty of a field of olive trees and their different coloured grounds, the Mediterranean light that dances in between them and the multicoloured ploughed lines drawn across them. I always approach an olive tree painting with special enthusiasm because of their charming and essentially Spanish nature.
Pintura al aire libre. Estos cuadros se pintaron al aire libre y sin apenas retoques de estudio. Los colores y las luces son los principales elementos. Con pinceladas sueltas y colores vivos quiero llenar el lienzo de vida y frescura; una especie de tejido de manchas y colores entrecruzados que dan vida a mis sensaciones delante del motivo.
Open air painting. These paintings were executed in the open air with hardly any retouching in the studio. Colour and light are the principal elements. With loose brushstrokes and bright colours I want to fill these canvases with life and freshness; a kind of tapestry of interwoven marks and colours that bring to life my sensations before the motif.
Surrealismo. Los cuadros surrealistas comenzaron siendo unos garabatos que dibujaba sobre papel, casi sin darme cuenta de lo que hacía. Luego los llevo a un soporte grande, donde empiezo a copiarlos dejando que el cuadro se construya por voluntad propia y de este modo esperar que el cuadro me sorprenda. Poco a poco, voy tomando mas control sobre la composición a medida que voy viendo el tema emergiendo de mi subconsciencia. Las perspectivas, escalas y espacios cambian constantemente, lo cual pretende desorientar el espectador mientras intenta leer las historias escondidas en el cuadro.
Surrealism. The surrealist paintings started out as doddles on paper. These small images are then developed on a larger scale, normally board, as I begin to reproduce my subconcious marks, I allow the images to unfold with a will of their own and hope that in this way the picture may surprise me. Gradually I take more control as the subject of the paintings begins to emerge almost by accident. My intention is to constantly change the perspective, scale and space so as to disorientate the viewer whilst at the same time they try to discover the stories hidden in the painting.
